Therapy for the Mind, Body and Spirit

Laury Rappaport Our new integrative psychotherapist, Laury Rappaport, PhD, MFT, draws upon a variety of therapeutic approaches to support her patients. Expressive arts, guided imagery, mindfulness meditation, and a gentle inward listening technique called "focusing," are all techniques she offers to help calm the body, ease the mind, and connect to spirit or insight.

As a pioneer and leader in the field of mind-body medicine for over 30 years, Laury helps patients restore balance as well as cope with challenges related to illness, relationships, self esteem, and self care. Beginning in June, Laury will see patients at our clinics in Marin and Santa Rosa. Learn more about her here.

A Proven Path to Finding Calm and Boosting Wellness

Jon Kabat-Zinn Since Jon Kabat-Zinn founded the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979, more than 18,000 people have completed his eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, which has served as a model for clinical intervention programs in more than 200 medical centers around the world.

MBSR, with its roots in the ancient spiritual practices of meditation and yoga, is a simple yet effective way of relieving pain, decreasing stress, and enhancing well-being. Our own MBSR class begins Monday June 3, click here for details. Watch a recent video of Jon Kabat-Zinn where he explains mindfulness.
